2. Myth 1:
One dog year is equal to seven human years.
The ratio of dog years to human years varies depending
on the dogs breed, weight and the health condition of
the animal.
Eg: at the age of 10 human years, a Great Dane would be
considered to be 80 years old while a Pug would only be
64.
3. Myth 2:
The poodle is from France.
Although the poodle is now the national dog of France,
it hs its origins in Germany, and poodle comes from the
Germanic word ‘pudel’.
4. Myth 3:
Dogs are sick when their noses are warm.
This is an old wives tale, as the only accurate way of
checking whether your dog has a high temperature is to
use a thermometer.
5. Myth 4:
Happy dogs wag their tails.
Dogs wag their tails when they are happy but they also
wag their tails as a sign of aggression. If the tails
is held over their backs and wagging it could be a sign
of anger.
6. Myth 5:
Dogs will let you know when they are sick.
Dogs are actually really good at hiding when they are
ill, as in the wild they would want to hide their
vulnerability from predators.
By the time they show you they are ill it could be
quite advanced..
