To Whom it May Concern:
It is with the greatest honor that I submit my application to work for your company. I am a recent
graduate from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences Pre-
Clinical track with a minor in Psychology.
Growing up with an ill sibling instilled a sense of direction at an early point in my life. It involved me in
the medical field at a young age and greatly boosted my interest in the subject. When she passed away
during my junior year of high school, I suddenly realized how treating and caring for her had become
such a crucial aspect of my life. This epiphany gave me the nudge I needed to pursue an education in
health and further investigate what field of interest I required.
When introduced to the physician assistant field, I continued my involvement via shadowing and
assisting physicians, nurses, ARNPs, as well as other health care professionals. One summer, I observed
a Physician Assistant, my career goal, at Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic. I was exposed to an up-close
viewing of the inner workings of the clinical setting, including diagnosing patients, consultations, and
surgical procedures. Last year, I also began volunteering weekly in the Emergency Department at
Florida Hospital. These experiences allowed me to gain a myriad of useful skills, including active
listening, critical thinking, and problem solving. I wish to uphold these exceptional values within your
practice and interweave them into my future career.
My most recent experience includes working as a Medical Scribe for ScribeAmerica at several Florida
Hospital locations. Each shift, I followed a Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner
throughout the Emergency Department as they visited patients. I was responsible for dictation of the
History of Present Illness, Physical Examination findings, procedures, imaging and lab results,
medication orders, call-outs, prescriptions, patient education and follow up as well as any other progress
notes. Creating medical records allowed me to examine the full patient experience, from triage to
disposition. This work truly ignited a passion in me for emergency medicine.
Due to the limitations of this letter, I would like to request the opportunity to have an interview to
demonstrate my aptitudes and qualifications for the available position. I strongly believe that I would be
an excellent and unique applicant to work for your company. Thank you very much for your time and
consideration of my application.
Sincerely,
Rachel Brownstein
