  4. How can I find some examples? In OCLC, do a command line search “dx:rda” Limit (e.g. by date) because there are now over 35,000 RDA records in OCLC, too many for the search to display without limitsdx:rda/1960-1969dx:rdali:mtgExamples of New RDA elements include:336, 337, 338710 $e relator terms in the subfield e in the 1xx, 7xx fieldsMultiple dates

General premise of RDA is the principle of true representation = Take what you see and accept what you getTitle transcription  include capitalization, punctuation, abbreviations, inaccuracies, symbols, numerals, etc.Don't correct errors and use [sic] or [i.e] transcribe as is and add a note of explanationAbbreviations  Don’t use abbreviations or substitutions in the edition, publisher, series designation and numbering, etc. (unless they are printed that way) v. = volume ; 1st ed. = first edition; [s.l.; s.n.] = [place of publication not identified], [publisher not identified]GMD  instead use the new fields Content type, Media type and Carrier type (336,337, & 338 )Dates  Copyright date is a separate element from date of publication, distribution, etc. If no date is stated, supply a probable date following RDA rules
  9. Access RDA toolkit via Cataloger’s Desktop
  10. Or via the RDA Toolkit site directly
  11. Or via OCLC Connexionright click menu
  12. Automatically see institution name upper right (based on IP address)If not then enter subscription account ID & password in the login boxes If you have already created a user profile enter your profile name and password in the log in boxesIf not then click on create a profile & follow the on screen instructions
  13. Once completely logged in you’ll see the welcome message with your name above the institution name
