3. 2009 Pinot Grigio, Monte Forte Lot 6 Vineyard Source From the Family vineyards of Cantina Riondo, Veneto Italy Variety Blend 100% Pinot Grigio Bottling: pH: 3.20 TA: 6 g/l ALC: 12.5% Delle Venezie, Italy The region has 3 IndicazioneGeografica Tipica (IGT) designations Alto Livenza, delle Venezie and Venezia Giulia. Nearly 62% of the wine produced in the region falls under a DOC designation. The area is known predominantly for its white wine which are considered some of the best examples of Italian wine in that style. Tasting Note This Pinot Grigio possesses honeyed, lemony, ripe apple and assorted tropical fruit aromas and flavors, medium bodied, beautifully concentrated, with a creamy complexity that caress the palate with no hard edges. This superbly pure wine is delicious by itself but a perfect compliment to an assortment of culinary dishes. 2009 Vintage Note The climate during the growing season was characterized by abnormal sudden changes in temperature. High temperatures and occasional rainstorms in July and August were interspersed with short periods of dryness, which provided a positive maturation period for the grapes. Harvest began at the end of August and continued through to the beginning of September. High daytime temperatures leading up to harvest contributed to good sugar accumulation in the grapes, while a steep drop in temperature during the nights promoted the development of aromatic substances. www.riondousa.com
4. 2005 Amarone, DOC Vineyard Source From the Family vineyards of Cantina Riondo, Veneto Italy Variety Blend 80%Corvina, 15%Rondinella 5%Molinara Bottling: pH: 3.50 TA: 6 g/l ALC: 15.5% Delle Valpolicella, Italy Valpolicella is one of the most prestigious winemaking areas in the Veneto and is located northwest of the elegant Roman town of Verona (in the western corner of the Veneto). Made up of a myriad of lush, verdant valleys that spread like fingers on an open palm as they stretch out of the Lessini Mountains, Valpolicella is an intensely beautiful region, whose name comes from "val polis cellae" and means "valley of many cellars", and is characterized by the steep, vine-laced ridges that run alongside its gurgling mountain streams. Tasting Note Our Amarone offers up aromas of freshly crushed currant with a slight raisin edge. Full bodied silky textured with loads of concentrated black fruit and spice on its long super clean and delicious finish. 2005 Vintage Note The quality of the grapes was good to excellent, with thick skins that made them ideally suited to the drying that is at the heart of the vinification process. Moscato Di Pavia, NV Vineyard Source From the Family vineyards of Cantina Riondo Piedmont Italy Variety Blend 100% Moscato Bottling: pH: 3.04 TA: 6.8 g/l ALC: 7.5% Di Pavia, Italy IGT The region is known particularly for its sparkling wines made in the Franciacorta and OltrepòPavese areas. Lombardy also produces still red, white and rosé wines made from a variety of local and international grapes including Nebbiolo wines in the Valtellina region, Trebbiano di Lugana white wines produced with the Chiaretto style rosé along the shores of Lake Garda. Tasting Note This wine is made from a selection of the best grapes from the Di Pavia growing region.
