Leadership is a process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to
achieve a common goal (Northouse, 2010).
• Followers:
Followers are those individuals who voluntarily engage in the leadership process by
partnering with leaders and other followers for the purpose of achieving a common
vision.
• Academia:
The milieu or interests of a university, college, or academy; academe (World English
Dictionary, 2009).
• Faculty:
The members of the teaching staff of an educational institution (World English
