Two of the distinctives that distinguish our city are the minaret of the ancient “AguaCaliente”
Casino and the “cebra style” painted donkeys of the Revolution Avenue.

The minaret, anarab-spanish style chimney that belonged to the complex of the
“AguaCaliente” Casino, where showbiz personalities and the north american mafia gathered
during the prohibition era in the other side of the border, is one of the most distinctive
constructions in the city, and it's the one that gives the color to our logo.

The black color of the superior ironwork and the nuance of blue, aqua and mustard tiling which
adorn the minaret are now part of the color that we want to give to Tijuana's image as venue of
the fourth national meeting of SSC Mexico.

Tijuana has been traditionaly touristic, becoming at some point the most visited city in the
world, and Revolution Ave. fervently lived the furor of that turistic boom. Photographers had
problems to take good pictures of the donkeys pulling carts with the tourists as background,
because the donkey, being white, was lost in frecuently in the picture. One time, a photographer
that visited San Diego's Zoo and noticing that the cebras did out well in his photos, decided to
paint his donkey as a cebra and this way, the tradition began.

The donkey painted as a cebra is a tradition in Tijuana, and as such tradition, we adopted it as
figure in the logo.

Tijuana is an extraordinary place where different cultures gather to

architecture and a population with marked phenomena of
conurbation and transculturation, which brings to the city a very
cosmopolitan profile. Also, Tijuana has been historically linked to the
American economy, traditions, and culture through its neighbor

time: Mexican and American, and maybe, it's in Revolution Avenue

It's common to find Chinese food restaurants through the

Mandarin broth, Mongolia Chicken, Cantonese rice,

It's well known the city of Mexicali has the best Chinese
food in the region, but Tijuana has excellent oriental food
too.

Now we'll show you one of the most famous avenues in Tijuana… “La
Coahuila”, located at “Zona Norte” and rivaled only by the red district
in Amsterdam. There you will find several nightclubs receiving
foreign and national visitors. One of the places with more affluence of
tourists is the Hong Kong Bar, a three-story building and from street to
street, with hundreds of exotic dancers, it's a place like no one other in
the country.

Near the Zona Norte is “Avenida Revolución”, the main street at
downtown, some time ago, it used to receive thousands of tourists
daily. Nowadays, this area has suffered a transformation, becoming a
space for the locals with several bars along the sixth avenue or “Calle
Sexta” gaining a second life to this emblematic avenue.

Located at Mesa de Otay near the Technological Institute
of Tijuana (ITT), there's a place that is beleaguered by the
lovers of the good eating, and it's because Tacos el
Mazateño was considered by the Tourism and
Conventions Committee in Tijuana (COTUCO) as one of
the best places to enjoy a good taco in Tijuana. During the
celebrations of the 120th anniversary of the foundation of
Tijuana, These tacos occupied the place 13 out of 120
things you can do at the city.

You start with a seafood consommé that can heal even the
worst hangover, with homemade toasts, and special
sauces for seafood.

There's a saying in the city about tacos: “Taco que cierra
no es taco” (Taco that closes isn't taco), and this can be
better appreciated at this place, because the specialty of
the house is the taco of spicy shrimp, you'll get a massive
taco with about 15 spicy shrimps with a flavor you won't
forget.

Other dishes and tacos highly recommended are the
Marlin taco and the Shrimp Ceviche.

Did you know? ¿ The famous cocktail “Margarita” was named that way in honor to TIJUANA Logo Rita Hayworth, who was a great Hollywood actress and her talent was discovered in Tijuana 2012 Two of the distinctives that distinguish our city are the minaret of the ancient “AguaCaliente” Casino and the “cebra style” painted donkeys of the Revolution Avenue. The minaret, anarab-spanish style chimney that belonged to the complex of the “AguaCaliente” Casino, where showbiz personalities and the north american mafia gathered during the prohibition era in the other side of the border, is one of the most distinctive constructions in the city, and it's the one that gives the color to our logo. The black color of the superior ironwork and the nuance of blue, aqua and mustard tiling which adorn the minaret are now part of the color that we want to give to Tijuana's image as venue of the fourth national meeting of SSC Mexico. Tijuana has been traditionaly touristic, becoming at some point the most visited city in the world, and Revolution Ave. fervently lived the furor of that turistic boom. Photographers had problems to take good pictures of the donkeys pulling carts with the tourists as background, because the donkey, being white, was lost in frecuently in the picture. One time, a photographer that visited San Diego's Zoo and noticing that the cebras did out well in his photos, decided to paint his donkey as a cebra and this way, the tradition began. The donkey painted as a cebra is a tradition in Tijuana, and as such tradition, we adopted it as figure in the logo. 4th. National Meeting SSC México Page 3
