Description
A key initiative on the payments platform was introducing the IBM Financial Transaction Manager to
integrate and monitor payment transactions. It delivers consistent processing across multiple payment
schemes (Faster Payments, CHAPS and BACS), enabling bank to converge their payment operations onto
a single platform called Transaction Management Hub.
Payments processing is a core, high volume, business critical function of the Bank and with ever
increasing demand to adapt & change to time critical regulatory and mandatory requirements. A reliable
delivery mechanism based on the IBM development process that supported a set of integrated tool was
setup.

My responsibility included managing the ADM Group Data Warehouse delivery for the regulatory RDR and
Strategic Investment Platform (SIP) projects. I was brought in to manage escalation and streamline the
GDW delivery. The main challenges was no proper planning, tracking and communication plan in place for
the project. I was responsible for streamlining GDW project planning, reporting, controlling the financials
and more importantly building the confidence with our stakeholder.
The project was executed on time, on-budget without the customer having to look for wavier for
regulatory compliance.
Description
The RDR (Retail Distribution Review) was launched by the Financial Service authority UK (FSA) in June
2006, in response to long standing problems in the market for the distribution of retail investment
products. The review resulted in a significant number of recommendations, which has become mandatory
by 1 January 2013 for the financial services organization, who are involved in distribution of retail
investment products. Failure to comply will result in substantial fines and sanctions by the FSA.
Strategic Investment Platform was to meet the changing needs of the wealth & International business &
their customers and the requirements of the upcoming Retail Distribution Review (RDR) by the Financial
Services Authority, UKPB is building new strategic platform (Temenos T24). This brings Single Customer
View and Simplify the overall W&I estate. Strategic Investment Platform (SIP) program has been created
to deliver the investment Functionality needed by UKPB business on top of the existing T24 solution.

Key Project handled on the STP area included;
Faster Payments Phase 2a – Outbound for Wholesale Customer for the bank.
Faster Payments Filter Projects – A mandatory project under Anti Money Laundering initiative within the
bank to filter out Payments Originating Onshore (POO Payments).
Payments Integration Programme – Managed the Scaling and Remediation of STP Payment engine to cater
to combined volume of the two banks.
SEPA PSD 2012 phase1 - The main aim of SEPA is to create an integrated payment market with a uniform
set of standards, rights and obligations across Europe. The PSD provides the legal framework to enable
this to happen. In the phase 1 the bank, as a payment service provider had to ensure that funds reach the
payees bank by the end of the business day after it has received the payment order.
Description
Straight through Payments (STP) is Lloyds Banking Groups straight through Payments platform which
deals with the banks low to medium value payments across multiple payment schemes including Domestic
Faster Payments & BACS, International and European transactions (SEPA).
Payment Instructions from various channels like ATM, Branch, Online banking and other external senders
like Faster Payments Service - Central Infrastructure (VocaLink), SWIFT , BACS are received into STP,
processed and account entries are applied to multiple accounting product platforms within the bank.
