World University Rankings

QS World University Rankings has published their 2016/17 list of the world’s top universities. Uppsala University is ranked 98th – up
from 102nd place last year.
MIT, Stanford and Harvard hold the top three spots on the ranking list. Apart from Uppsala University, two other Swedish universities
are among the top 100: Lund University in 73rd place and the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in 97th place. They were among
the top 100 last year too.
QS World University Rankings ranks more than 900 universities across the world based on six different indicators, which are given
different weights:
Academic reputation (40%)
Employer reputation (10%)
Student-to-faculty ration (20%)
Citations per faculty (20%)
International faculty ratio (5%)
International student ratio (5%)
