Questions & Answers
Q: Does the free developer version have functional limitations compared to the paid version?
A: From capabilities perspective the trial is equivalent to the productive version. The limitations are applied to resources, e.g.
limited to 5 portal sites and 1 administrator.
Q: Sorry, I am downloading the sdk now but I only see 64 bit versions.
A: SDK related questions should be addressed to the HANA Cloud platform team (Peter Peshev)
Q: What about SAP licensing cost ? For example, if we want to deploy 2000 users on HANA portal , how the SAP licensing
cost calculated ?
A: The pricing model is usage based, i.e. calculated based on site visits. If you need more details on the cost for a concrete
scenario please contact me directly.
Q: Is there a 32bit Windows version?
A: Cloud Portal is a hosted solution enabling web-based access using your browser (IE, Chrome, FF, Safari).

Questions & Answers
Q: Can we use existing portlets (e.g. from EP) to be exposed in cloud portal?
A: As the HANA Cloud Portal is a new solution based on a new technology, the existing portlets cannot be deployed and
consumed as is in the HANA Cloud platform. To consume such data you would need to develop the UI layer (HTML5)
and fetch the data from the on-premise systems using the Cloud Connector and Gateway (optional).
Q: Why the solution name includes the term HANA?
A: Cloud Portal is running on the HANA database. As part of our roadmap we plan to leverage SAP HANA in-memory
computing services (e.g. recommendations, contextual suggestions, analytic reports etc.)
