The Society of Private Nursing Practitioners of South
Africa is holding the Biennial National Conference in
Cape Town in May 2016.
Nurses in private practice and the private sector are
invited to attend the 9
th
National conference.
We would like to include members, visitors and non-
practicing members to attend, including all
Registered Nurses working in private practice,
pharmacies and doctors’ consulting rooms.
Presentations will cover a wide range of topics
Practice management, Clinical practice and personal
development. These will include Wound care,
Pharmacotherapeutics, New advances, Ethics,
Immunology and various aspects of Nursing care.
The imminent introduction of compulsory CPD for
nurses as well as the legislation relating to the
Certificates of Need for licensing of private practices
is high on our agenda.
The role of men and women in nursing will be
featured as we salute those who make nursing a
reality.
The key objectives of the conference are:
 Provide an opportunity to hear from invited keynote speakers;
 Participate in clinical and research workshops;
 Explore evidence-based decision making in nursing care;
 The opportunity for healthcare companies to network with providers as well as promote their products;
 Inform our partners in government and funding organisations on aspect of community based nursing
care.
