How many Segments are in a class?
• Introduction of a
concept

• Detailed directions
• Computer based
• Paper based
• Student Presentations

Linear Time is Oppressive
• My live delivery of an 5 minute recorded lesson can
take 8-10 minutes ( even 3 minutes every day adds up)
• Students have to wait for me to finish talking, waiting is
boring, boredom is death to learning
• Recording presentations allows me to grade after and
get through more presentations in class
• By sharing class, I give students more opportunity for
success

Your Stakeholders
• Students –Once you start delivering recorded instruction, they
have more control of their learning
• Parents –They can see into your class ands use your lessons to
support learning at home
• You –How much time can you recover? You will be surprised
• Paraprofessionals –Tutors and Learning specialists will be able
to better serve your students
• Other teachers –Once you start capturing class segments you
can share them with other teachers, forming a foundation for
professional development.
