We found that there are two aspects to God’s glory.
One aspect is the glory that He has in Himself.
His intrinsic glory.

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!”

So God has intrinsic glory.
This is the glory of His very nature.
What is this intrinsic glory?
God’s intrinsic glory is the manifestation of the combination of all of His
attributes!


Since God's glory is the combination of all of His attributes, what are some of

Why give God glory?

We glorify God by rehearsing His attributes.

To glorify God is to extol (to praise enthusiastically) His attributes.

Without the authority of the Bible, any attempt to explain God’s attributes would
be no better than a man’s opinion, which by itself is often incorrect, especially
when it comes to understanding God.

God’s attribute: Holiness
Though all the attributes of God are important and dependent on one another,
the fact of God’s holiness seems to be the one He wishes us to put emphasis on
the most.

This is the only attribute of God that is repeated three times in Scripture:
Holy, holy, holy! (Isa 6:3)
 Holy = holy
 Holy, holy = holier
 Holy, holy, holy = holiest
His love won’t trump His holiness.
God will not set aside His holiness even for His mercy.
Because of God’s attributes of righteousness and justice, in order for our sins to
be forgiven, Jesus had to experience God's full wrath when our sins were placed
on Him.

God did not reduce the penalty at all even though it was His only Son Who was
paying the price.
 In fact, Isaiah 53:10 says that “it pleased the Lord to bruise Him”.

First, God's glory is that which is His intrinsic nature, the sum of His
attributes.
Second, there is a glory which is given to God by His creatures.

By enhancing His name, by exalting His name, by lifting up His name, by
praising His name, by honoring His name, we give Him glory in the eyes of the
world.
What does it mean to give God glory?
It means to magnify His glory before the world.
It's a question of your testimony about Him.

God is not affected by the way we live but the world is affected by our living

We are not adding to His intrinsic nature.
We are enhancing His glory in the eyes of other men.
That is how we give glory to God.

Since God made us and gave us our being (and everything else), we
certainly ought to give Him the glory!
Why does God deserve the glory?

He created us so that we would give Him the glory only He deserves.
How could we possibly give glory to any other god or any other source?

God does not want us to give His glory to another because there is no other.

foolish - not in our best interest.
God wants the best for us.
In Col 1:16 it says of Jesus, "All things were created through Him and for Him."

He gets glory out of everything and everyone sooner or later.

God – God’s glory.

Satan wanted the glory and later he even tempted Jesus by offering Him the
kingdoms of the world and their glory if Jesus would fall down and worship him.

Prior to the creation of man, God did not allow Satan to rob Him of His glory and
then we see in the OT how God would not allow Pharaoh to get any of His glory
either.

He'll get it without exception.
The whole Bible bears out that message.

Is it possible to steal God’s glory?
Absolutely not!
“I will not give My glory to another.”

Everybody gets to the place where they give God glory, willingly or
unwillingly.
Wittingly or unwittingly.
But God especially gets glory from the righteous.

The righteous willingly give Him glory and that pleases Him!
That is one reason He created people with a free will.

We are His righteous people willingly declaring His praise because:
1) He made us
2) He made us to give Himself glory,
3) He'll get it anyway.
We might as well give it willingly, because when we give it willingly, the result is:

We also ought to give God glory because He judges those who don't
willfully give Him glory.
The ones who take God’s judgment lightly will miss the boat!

What is the everlasting Gospel?
It's the Gospel of judgment against those who fail to give God glory,
against unbelief or against ungodliness.

This is not the Gospel as we know it simply defined in Christ.
It's much broader.
It's the everlasting Gospel, the News of God that runs throughout time and
eternity that God punishes the wicked and He rewards the righteous.
