Look under the “Resources” tab for
•recommendations on subject specific databases
•advise on how to effectively search these resources
•how to troubleshoot access problems.

12. Library Catalogue
Good for:
• Searching for a specific book, e-book or journal title.
Not so good for:
• Finding individual journal articles.

13. Summon
Good for:
• Searches across most of the library’s resources in one simple search
• Finds journal articles, books, e-books, and other publication types
• Very easy to refine your results by: full-text, content type (e.g.
scholarly journals), subject, publication date, etc.
Not so good for:
• Doesn’t search ALL databases, specifically non-journal databases.

You can also select to search individual databases, some very
useful databases include:

5000+journals, Industry and Country Profiles, Company Information…
• Emerald
Academic & professional literature covering Business, Economics, Management
• Keynote
3000+ UK & European Market Intelligence Reports, and Business Ratio Reports
• Passport GMID (Global Market Information Database)
Provides key business intelligence on industries, countries and consumers.
Includes: country & industry statistics, market reports, company information,
country profiles & briefings, strategy briefings, consumer lifestyle statistics and
comment on emerging industry, country and consumer trends.
