Math Lesson 1 Adding(+) X-values Subtracting (-) X-values By Sarah Reames
Introduction In this lesson we will be learning how to add and subtract X-values. I will show you some examples on how to add these X-numbers. Afterwards you will be given some multiple choice questions that you need to answer. You will have an unlimited time to complete this assignment in which you may move back and forth through this show. This is meant to challenge you as well as make math fun. So take your time and good luck. I know you will do well.
Adding X When you add an X value you need to make sure That the values you are adding are to the same power. Ex.1 X+4X=? Answer: 5X We can add these without any problem because the X-values are to the same power 1. X=X¹ Now it’s your turn try out some click the arrow below to Go to the first question.
X+13X=? A) 12X B) 13X C) 14X D) Don’t know

Good Work! Now Lets look at subtracting X . Subtracting X is very similar the problems you just did only now your taking away a value instead of adding it. *If you didn’t understand Adding X-Values please click on the picture below and visit this page to get more practice before going on to the subtracting portion of this lesson. (X-Values can use different letters to mean the same thing)
7e-2e=? A ) 5e B) 4e C) 9e D) Don’t know
