2. 71 is a 2014 British historical action film set in
Northern Ireland. It is about the Belfast riots that took
place in 1971. It tells the story of a British soldier – Jack
O’Connell who was accidently abandoned by his unit
following a riot on the streets of Belfast, where then he
must attempt to survive of the harsh troubles that he
faced.
3. Yann Demange is the man who directed the film 71. Yann
Demange was born in Paris and raised in London. With a
broad foundation of skills, Yann went to study Film at the
prestigious London College of Printing. In his early films that
he made explored a range of social and cultural groups,
allowing him to catch the eye for narrative detail.
Following this, Yann attended the National Film and
Television school to undertake an MA in Fiction Directing
where he was the recipient of a full scholarship from Disney.
So this is where he decided to become a film director.
4. Yann Demange’s debut film ‘71’is a delicate intense and an
intelligent portrayal of one man trying to get home alive.
Demange’s incredible film making skills has made this film very
interesting to watch because of its action and pace and also an
outstanding re-creation of the west Belfast war zone. The rating
it got was 7.8 starts which is very good, as it could become a very
famous and popular film soon.
5. Jack O’ Connell was born on the 1st of August 1990. He is a
British actor, known best for playing Pukey Nicholls in This is
England. Recently Jack has appeared in a new Warp Film called
’71’ and plays the main lead, of a soldier but who still is a
teenager from Derby who is sent to Belfast on a tour of duty in
1971, wen some of the worst sectarian violence was taking place.
