3. Vespasian was the 9th emperor of the Rome who planed the
project of THE COLOSSUEM ROME for his youngest son.
Titus was the 10th emperor of the Rome who completed
THE COLOSSUEM ROME in his ruling period 70AD – 80AD.
The Colosseum had been completed up to the third story by the time
of Vespasian's death in 79. The top level was finished by his son, Titus
in 80 A.D, and the inaugural games were held in, 80 A.D or 81 A.D.
Over 9,000 wild animals were killed during the inaugural games of
the amphitheatre.

spectators. Its having four floors.
it was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles such
as mock sea battles, animal hunts.
The arena itself was 83 meters by 48 meters.
Today The Colosseum today is now a major tourist attraction in
Rome with thousands of tourists each year paying to view the
interior arena.
The Colosseum is also the site of Roman Catholic ceremonies
in the 20th and 21st centuries.
In 217, the Colosseum was badly damaged by a major fire
caused by lightning, which destroyed the wooden upper levels
of the amphitheatre's interior.
