The International Summer School on Social Banking provides a unique opportunity for interested
and engaged people to meet and develop new perspectives on banking and finance.
                                            Goals
                                            Within the Summer School, we
                                            • create awareness for the role of banks in society and the economy,
                                            • present cases and best practices of already existing socially oriented banks and
                                                   banking products,
                                            • question the personal relationship to money and the present banking system,
                                            • offer spaces for creative and solution-oriented discussions on banking and
finance and their role in society,
                                            • critically reflect on the concepts and ideas behind socially oriented banking.
In addition to introducing Social Banking in general, every International Summer School on Social
                                            Banking addresses a main topic.
In 2010, we focus on “Banking on values” and ask “what values?” these actually are. As banking is
a social interaction, we will also link these discussions to our personal values.

Goals Within the Summer School, we • create awareness for the role of banks in society and the economy, • present cases and best practices of already existing socially oriented banks and banking products, • question the personal relationship to money and the present banking system, • offer spaces for creative and solution-oriented discussions on banking and finance and their role in society, • critically reflect on the concepts and ideas behind socially oriented banking. In addition to introducing Social Banking in general, every International Summer School on Social Banking addresses a main topic. In 2010, we focus on “Banking on values” and ask “what values?” these actually are. As banking is a social interaction, we will also link these discussions to our personal values. 2
