[object Object], individuals we live in 4 Worlds ,[object Object]
World 1 =My Inner world-Me
World 2 =The Concrete world
World 3 =The Abstract world
World 4=The PossibilitiesThe 4 Worlds
Beliefs/Attitudes Likes/dislikes Bias/prejudices Loves/fears Hopes/dreams The world inside my MIND-private. Having a healthy world 1 helps us to have a happy , productive life. People who help build my world one are important to me. Think : HEART World 1 =My Inner world-Me
Our sensory experiences and indirect academic learning shape this world All the people I have met and places I visit My physical experiences : sport, music, building, creating The world just outside me Requires coaching and feedback Think HANDS World 2 =The Concrete world
The world I learn from indirectly The world I know about but may never have experienced Reading. Watching. Listening. Writing. Communicating with others. Think : MIND World 3 =The Abstract world
The world I have yet to experience The external world My uncertain future The places I might visit, people I might meet, the things I might do ! It can be exciting ! World 4=The possibilities
In learning-World 3 and World 2 Combine for Quality teaching and learning. But we have to use our World 4 to get there! Our World 1 helps us to achieve all of the above-Looking after ourselves is important Some of us prefer to learn in a World 2 way but School and life asks us to Use World 3 a lot. It involves us listening, reading, writing and communicating. World 3 learning is unique to humans –we are the only animal to learn this way. Improving our ability to learn in this way is possible for us all if we understand how to use our BRAIN POWER & using BRAIN CARE. How do these Worlds impact our learning ?

How do we learn ?
1. Acquisition- Collecting the information 2. Rehearsal- Processing it Steps- A. At time of acquisition B. Hours or days after-requires motivation ! Best done immediately ! Or the brain will DUMP it ! The key to successful retention- connect new learning with existing learning, look for patterns, mind maps, paraphrasing is better than note taking ! 3. Retention-Keeping it- Repeating it ! Putting it into ACTION 4. Retrieval – using it when needed or FOR EXAMS ! DO YOU USE THESE 4 STAGES ? How much do you Rehearse ?
