2. Earth quakes happen across the
world each year. The good news
is almost all of them are to small
to feel.

3. What causes earth quakes?..
To understand why earthquakes happen it
helps to know what going on inside our planet
not just what happening on the surface. Also
earth quakes are caused by the plates like say
the plate slips down and there's a shake in the
middle of earth that’s how earth quakes
happen.

4. Our planet is divided into a three
main layers: a solid core a liquid
magma mantle and a crust, which
floats on top. That top crust is made
up of individual plates , which are
kept inconstant motion by
convection currents in the magma.

5. Plates that collide push rock layers upward
which creates mountains. When plates
move away from each other or diverge
lava comes up from the mantle and cools.

6. In some places the plates become
locked together. Energy build up in
the locked plates, which is released
in the form of an earthquake when
the plates finally give way.
