The student learned several things from receiving audience feedback on their music video project. They received feedback both directly from classmates watching the video, as well as online. The feedback was overall positive, with classmates enjoying the dancing and choreography. However, many commented that using only one location for the video was limiting, and additional locations would have made it more interesting. Going forward, the student learned they should stick to their original plans more and use more preparation and resources, such as including more locations in the video.

Evaluation question 3
1. Evaluation question 3: What have you learned from your audience feedback?
I and my partner did research on our target audience by asking class members questions about what
they thought of our music video after watching it. We put together a video of feedback as shown
above. We also used other formats of getting audience feedback such as social networking sites like
Facebook and communication programmes like blackberry messenger. All of these are shown above.
As well as showing them our final music video we also showed them our Digipak and Magazine
advert. We were given in depth feedback from our target audience. This really helped me and my
partner as we were given an overall image on what our target audience thought. We understood the
things we did well and the things we could have done well. We discussed the feedback and took into
consideration what we could do better in the next media creations to come in the near future.
When our class members were watching our music video we could see that some of the class
members started to get involved in some of the dance moves. This is the kind of response we are
looking for in our target audience. Involvement of the audience is our important factor. We could
also start to see who liked the music video and who didn’t. Moreover when looking over the videos
we got more in depth responses to our video positive and negative points.
Our main target was to create a music video that gets everyone involved in the dance moves and
from looking at the responses everyone gave positive answers. We also got a lot of positive feedback
about the choreography. However, we had a lot of class members and friends mention the location
of the music video as it was set in the studio. We had quite a few people mention that we could have
used different locations instead of just sticking to one location. I think we could have done that to
make it look even better.
Overall I feel that my music video was a real success, from the feedback we received this supports
the statement I made as most of our target audience enjoyed the music video. From the feedback I
have learnt what our target audience enjoyed most about our video and what they enjoyed the least
about it. Positive points we received from our target audience included things like the editing of our
video some said that they liked the way it fast cut for every dance move. We also had some
individuals say that the choreography was presented really well and done properly they way you
would see professional dancers. We also had comments about our costumes, most people liked the
way all 4 of us girls looked classy and sophisticated and they liked the way we all wore black dresses.
Negative points we received was mainly all to do with the location of our music video. Many people
mentioned that they thought we should have used more locations as it would make it more
interesting and grab the audience more.
I was very happy with the positive feedback we got as that was the exact response I was hoping for
from our target audience. Moreover, the negative points I agree with as I feel with could have done
more with the locations and gave a bit more a variety in the music video. I have learnt that we
should have stuck to our original plan and had more preparations as we did consider doing more
locations. I have learnt that we should use all of the resources to our full ability.
Lastly I can finally say that the feedback was very successful. I have learnt on the areas that we
should improve on e.g. by adding more locations maybe on a street, in a shop; in a park etc. this
would make the music video more enjoyable and also show to the audience that it is about everyone
2. getting involved. I have also learnt that we should stick to one idea and not keep changing our minds
last minute. Be more prepared and organised. If we had done this I think that the music video would
be a little better structured and would appeal to the audience more. I have learnt that the editing
we used was very effective and the choreography was a success.
