The harmful effects drugs and alcohol may have on one's health may be minimal provided that the consumption of alcohol as administered by an individual is moderate or less than moderate.
1. How to deal with being an alcoholic ?
A very old and yet still ever growing problem in America which has cost many lives and
is still consuming many more is drugs alcohol and recovery. It’s a disease and it
causes problems not only for the victim but also for people around him/her. Since under
the influence of alcohol a person starts losing his wits, his awareness, he may lead
towards destruction, not only his own. If a person not in his complete senses is made to
sign a deal which is harmful to the company he is running, this deal made under, said
influence, will affect the whole company he represents.
I think we are all aware of the consequences of alcoholism; the question is how to
resolve this slowly growing problem? Our governments have played their part in
attempting to curb this disease but to little avail. Yes an age limit has been introduced
below which children cannot buy alcoholic beverages, there are timings before which
selling alcohol is illegal in many states, but what more can be done? It is not possible to
completely ban alcohol is it? Can we get or drugs and alcohol Not with its religious
implications, not to forget social and cultural importance and it provides a very huge
number of jobs which in today’s economy is a blessing. Not to forget drinking is the
American way.
2. So what are we to do about the drinking problem so many individuals are involved in
these days? Well excessive drinking has to be stopped that’s all. It requires a lot of
motivation and will power but the person addicted can overcome this obstacle in his life
and go on to live a healthy, successful life, like countless others have already done.
Curing one from this obstacle can lead to the person’s happiness and is that not the best
way to live?
All the person needs to do is get help. That is the first step after identifying oneself as an
alcoholic. Get help from a family member or a friend. Talk to them, tell them his
dilemmas, discuss his problems. If this isn’t enough there is always counseling, group
therapy where a person can find support and reassurance and above all faith that he can
be cured too. There are also medications, taking them can help reduce the effect of
addiction making it easier for the person or Virginia to say no to alcoholismand live
a better life.
