If you made your film again, what would you change about the overall product:
1. If you made your film again, what would you change about the overall product:
During our filming there were a few things that I believe we could have improved on to make our
film better some of these were lighting, storyline, and shot types. The reason I have chosen
these areas was because I felt there could have been improvement in them or that we faced a
challenge that could be avoidable.
Lighting was a key issue in are filming as we did not take into account how long we would have
the lighting we wanted or how hard it would be to film in the dark (camera found it hard to pick
up) . The first issue came in the opening where we wanted to have the main character in light
that slowly descended into darkness symbolising his deterioration of mind, since it was winter
the amount of time that we had to film in are key light (lowlevel) changed for 2-3 to 1 hour this
put us under a lot of stress to film which may have affected the finally product. Another issue in
lighting was when we tried to film at night, the camera had problems in picking up are
characters and the setting if there was no “white” light.
With are story line there was no challenges with it but i believed that it could have been
improved upon. The reason for this is because as we went through the filming we felt that there
were bits that would improve our film which at the benign was ok as we were able to adapt to
them as we had not yet filmed the scenes, but as we continued to film we had to cut ideas out
as it became implicated to add to some scene.
Shot types was also a bit of a challenge as certain ideas we had about how the picture would
come out didn't work as we found it hard to included things in shots while keeping them to the
storyboard, we also had problems with clarity in the shots. To get around this we used editing to
make shot seem clear or darker, we used a third party software for this.
The film had it challenges but in the end by using the knoll we had gained from media (codes
and convections) we were able to substitute and adapt how we needed to create a high level
thriller film opening.
