Medicinal plants and natural products - an option for animal health care and veterinary medicine
Mini-Topic of the 61st International Congress and Annual Meeting of the Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product
Research (GA), Münster, Germany, September 1-5, 2013
Ladies and gentlemen,
we are delighted to invite scientists that are involved or interested in research regarding veterinary phytopharmacology and
ethnoveterinary medicine, clinical applications of natural products and herbal drug materials in animals as well as plant derived
feeding additives to join us at the International Congress and Annual Meeting of the Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural
Product Research (GA) in Münster, Germany from 1st to 5th September 2013.
Against the background of rapidly increasing importance of issues such as antimicrobial resistance, conventional drug residues
and striving for sustainability in agriculture we would like to create a networking platform for scientists working in human and
animal health science. We firmly believe that international networking and interdisciplinary exchange between scientists
performing research in veterinary and human application of herbal medicines is an essential step towards solving these global
problems. “One world- one health”- let us work on it together.
At the conference there will be oral presentations and posters on human as well as on animal health topics, a guided poster
th
discussion tour related to animal issues and a networking evening on Monday 2 September.
To facilitate scientific exchange we encourage scientific entries on animal-related topics. A call for papers is soon to follow. All
accepted abstracts will be published in the peer reviewed journal “Planta Medica”.
For further enquiries please see the attached flyer and don’t hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards
For the initiative
