UNV School Tour Programme -V for MDGs-

Objective: V for MDGs!
UNV Philippines will start its new local programme called V for MDGs by providing students with
opportunities to learn more about Volunteering for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) at schools
and communities through celebration Philippine 10th anniversary of the International Year of Volunteers
(IYV+10): Volunteering for MDGs! Build Hope, Change Lives: Volunteer! Interested Schools and/or
communities can request UNV Philippines to visit the location to provide the necessary information about
volunteerism and how volunteers can make difference in making the 8 different MDGs to achieve by 2015
as follows:
Millennium Development Goals (MDGs):
Goal1. Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
Goal2. Achieve universal primary education
Goal3. Promote gender quality and empower women
Goal4. Reduce child mortality
Goal5. Improve maternal health
Goal6. Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
Goal7. Ensure environmental sustainability
Goal8. Develop a Global Partnership for Development

Interactive Session with Youth and Adults
The contents of the School Tour Programme could be varied depends on the needs of the schools and/or
communities. Based on the request from schools and/or communities, UNV Philippines will consult with the
applicants to plan jointly for the interactive session for the both youth and adults in the country and
participants will have an opportunity to explore together for what we can do to achieve MDGs in near future.
