Which Military
    Branch To Join?

• To help make your decision on which military
branch to join, consider making a list of all the
pros and cons of each branch and then narrow
your selection down to one or two branches.
• Once you’ve narrowed your selection, consider
meeting with a recruiter to get your
  questions answered.
Which Military
     Branch To Join:
        The Army
• There are over 200 Military Occupational Specialties
  for soldiers.
• Jobs include translators, working with the Army’s
helicopters, providing medical care for other
soldiers, becoming an infantry soldier or providing
  supplies as a transportation soldier.
• The Army has many different needs, which means
that it’s possible to do nearly any type of job in the
  Army.
Which Military
     Branch To Join:
      The Air Force
• The Air Force’s primary mission is to fly, so it’s
natural that many careers focus around aviation.
• Airmen can be pilots, navigators, ground crew, air
  maintenance staff and linguists.
• However, the Air Force also has a full support staff
  that includes chefs, finance professionals,
administrators, firefighters, police and nearly any
  other support role.
Which Military
   Branch To Join:
  The Marine Corps
• Although many think the Marine Corps is its own
branch, it’s actually a part of the Navy.
• Jobs in the Marine Corps include careers in field
  artillery, avionics, combat engineering, aircraft
  maintenance and air traffic control.
• Marines aren’t just deployed in a combat role. They
also participate in a number of peacekeeping and
  humanitarian roles throughout the world.
Which Military
     Branch To Join:
        The Navy
• A sailor’s career will likely be focused around water,
but not always. Some Navy bases are landlocked.
• Sailors can work on aircraft carriers, on submarines,
as Navy SEALs, be a member of a flight crew or a
pilot or rescue other sailors who are at sea.
• The Navy also has a full support staff, including law
enforcement professionals, chefs, public affairs staff
  and even fitness professionals.
Which Military
   Branch To Join:
   The Coast Guard
• The Coast Guard is actually a part of the
Department of Homeland Security and not the
  Department of Defense.
• Coast Guard members protect the ports and
waterways, both by sea and by air.
• They also protect the environment, work in human
resources, manage the Coast Guard’s budget and
work in a number of other fields.
Which Military
     Branch To Join?
• This is a small overview of the
  differences between the military
  branches.
• If you’re interested in learning more, consider talking
to a recruiter about joining the Armed Forces.
• He or she will be able to help you navigate through
which branch is best for you and help you take the
next step in fulfilling your dream of joining the U.S.
