1. BETTER THAN
I EVER IMAGINED
oe aE Y E O N A R B O N N E
I thought I knew what Arbonne was all about, so I dismissed it as a
viable business option and nearly missed out on a life-changing oppor-
tunity. It was out of this near miss that I am compelled to urge you to
take a closer look. Chances are, like me, you will find it different than
you originally thought and better than you ever imagined.
In December 2002, my husband, Forrest, went to lunch with a couple
of former work buddies. The guys joked with one about not having to
work because his wife was doing so well with her Arbonne business.
That piqued Forrest’s curiosity, so he pulled up the Web site. Assuming
it was just for women, he encouraged me to check it out. I had always
lived my life according to plan — going to college, getting a good job,
paying off our debts and investing for our future. I had worked hard for
my MBA and enjoyed my success in corporate America. I had some
misconceptions about the Arbonne opportunity, and it did not fit into my
current plan, so I dismissed the possibility of doing Arbonne.
As time went on, our frustrations with some of our life choices grew. We
found ourselves spending minimal time doing what we most valued in life.
Although my educational, professional and income achievements were
gratifying, I felt frustrated with having to squeeze my living into the nights
and weekends and having to juggle career and family. Forrest’s passion
and education were in ministry; however, he found himself trying to build
a career in sales to be able to solely provide financially for our family.
We knew if something did not change, nothing was going to change. We
began to look at ways to put our money to work for us, rather than just
working for money. To create additional income streams, we evaluated
real estate and business ownership options. We made some investments,
purchased a fitness franchise, and started a pharmaceutical sales busi-
ness. In the midst of all this, Arbonne never crossed our minds.
In the fall of 2005, I received a phone call from a friend and former
work colleague, ERVP Christina Hood. Our dialogue inspired me to at
least give Arbonne an honest consideration. I was skeptical, but curious.
I decided I owed it to myself to take a closer look. Meanwhile, I learned
that several people we knew and respected, had either achieved or

were on their way to achieving the status of National Vice President,
enjoying more time with their families, and pursuing their life passions,
while having the potential to earn the kind of money that only top exec-
utives make. The only difference between us was that I had let fear and
misconceptions keep me from taking a look at Arbonne years earlier
while they had not.
I thoroughly researched Arbonne, the industry and the financials. I
learned that Arbonne was a high-caliber health and wellness company
with an unprecedented growth history. The products, as well as the
opportunity, were truly amazing. Unlike other companies, no parties or
traditional “selling” was required. With all my former business educa-
tion and experience, I was most alarmed that I had never before learned
the truth about network marketing. My previous misconceptions and
stereotypes had kept me from recognizing this unique and powerful
business model. Imagine having no limits on what you are worth, no
monthly overhead to meet, nor huge investments of time or capital
required to build a potentially unlimited residual income.
2. Anyone can do this. While working a 50-plus-hour-a-week corporate
job with international travel, raising two kids under the age of 2, and
overseeing our fitness franchise, I began working Arbonne part time, but
consistently. I began by dedicating my commute time to make phone
calls to share my excitement about Arbonne. Within six short months, I
promoted to Regional Vice President, got my white Mercedes-Benz after
participating in the Mercedes-Benz Cash Bonus Program, and was
halfway to qualifying for Nation. Eventually, I was able to quit my full-
time job, and now, Forrest and I both are home fitting the business
around our lives with our boys. I am having a blast! The best part of all
this is that I know this is just the beginning of the potential time and
financial freedom we will enjoy. Did I ever think this would be the means
to the life I always wanted? Not at all. But I am so glad I finally opened
my mind to the possibility. I hope you will too.
There are a lot of people to thank for bringing our Region to this point.
