2. Department of Architecture and Urban Construction was established in
1980
The research work of students is organized in accordance with the research and training
plan for the entire period of study on theses specialties:
«Industrial and Civil Construction»
«Urban Construction and Economy»
«Inspection and management of real estate»

3. The mission of the department – excellent training to prepare highly qualified
and competitive specialists in architecture and construction, the development of
fundamental and applied science as the basis for high quality education and source of
new knowledge and technology and the participation in architectural monuments
reconstruction.

4. Main objective - is systematic focused individual and collective work of students on the most
active research and real topics. And mastering techniques and methods of carrying out scientific
research and real design.

14. Architectural Student Center (АSC)
is a unique youth research association, under the auspices of the Department of
Architecture and Urban Construction
Historical and urban development area
"Research, scientific, theoretical and design recommendations for the restoration of
the monuments of architecture, history and culture of Kirov and Kirov Region"

15. Creativity upsurge period (1992-2012) was marked by
the dynamic inclusion of ASC in the architectural and building complex of the Kirov
region; expansion of research subject themes, the intensification of scientific and
educational activities; participation in the prestigious competitions of national and
international level; obtaining professional and public recognition.

16. The higher level of the research work was noted by the jury of International festivals
«Architecture-2004, 2006, 2007» (Moscow) and the Department of Architecture and Urban
construction and ASC VyatSU were awarded with a Golden Diploma.
In I regional festival «Architecture-2006» (Kirov) the Department has received a Golden Diploma
and the Golden Medal of I.A.Charushin "For the revival of the Vyatka architecture“.
The multifunctional architectural and cultural complex “Khlynov Chambers" was presented at the 7
international exhibitions: Cannes МIPIM-2006,2007(France);
S-Petersburg (10 и 11 МЭФ); China (Beijing); Architecture-2007 (Moscow); S.Korea (UN) and
awarded with diplomas.
In 2012, the book "Architectural Student Center" by L.B. Bezverkhova was awarded with the
Diploma of the International Festival «Architecture» (Moscow) and ASC projects were awarded
with the Golden diploma at IV regional festival «Architecture».

17. The research work on the architecture history and urban construction in Vyatka land, the creativity of
Vyatka architects, the theoretical and design development of ASC described in the materials of
international, national and regional conferences, handbooks “Monuments of History and Culture
Kirov” (1986, 2002), ”Memorial books” are authoritative scientific and textbook information.
The research results of the Department of Architecture and ASC are presented in these publications:
"Russian Urban Construction Art" (Part 4-1998), "Architectural heritage" (Collection HAC #38-1995,
58-2012) «Urban Construction Art» (Issue 2 - 2010) and others. A considerable amount of research
materials of ASC are published in "Encyclopedia of Vyatka Land" (Part 5.Part 10). There were
released 20 videos of two cycles: "Historic cities" and "Architectural history" (State TV) "Vyatka"
(1987-2007) in behalf of methodological support and Research Work of Students.
