In January 2012, the alumni of MFM and MCCF organized the 3rd edition of their
annual Macro-Economic Debate. Once again, a growing number of over 240
participants had the opportunity to learn about the major economic topics which will
impact our perspectives in business for the coming years.
4 Chief Economists were able to provide the
audience the broadest, unbiased insights: Mr.
Peter Vanden Houte (ING), Mr. Edwin De
Boeck (KBC), Mr. Frank Lierman (Dexia) and
Mr. Bart Van Craeynest (Petercam). To allow
clear-cut answers, moderator Alain Deneef
(Head of Thematic Investments, Bank Degroof)
directed the debate and involved the audience
to bring in the wisdom of the crowds. The
interconnected themes this year ranged from
banks over the perilous state of government
budgets and the role of supranational
organizations.
After the event, in the stunning promises of sponsoring partner ING, further discussions
were possible at the networking reception.
Vlerick MFM Alumni is looking forward to seeing you again early 2013.
