The Superintendent’s Bulletin is posted weekly on Fridays on our website. It provides timely, relevant
information about meetings, professional development opportunities, curriculum and program development,
grant awards, and School Committee news. The bulletin is also the official vehicle for job postings. Please
read the bulletin regularly and use it to inform colleagues of meetings and other school news.

     Dear Colleagues,

Some of you have asked how last weekend¹s camping trip in New Hampshire went. I am happy to report that
those sleeping bag liners (actually rated for zero to ten degrees I learned when I re-checked the label) really
did the trick. They kept us warm as the temperatures dipped into the mid-thirties both nights.
By the way, the evening stars were breathtaking. I thought they were the best ever, but it
might be just that my brain doesn¹t hold onto how truly brilliant they are between the times I
am able to see them away from urban light. From the sampling of comments from friends and
colleagues, it is clear family camping is not so common and not even on most people¹s wish
list! For us the highlight is definitely building and then gathering around the campfire. I know
the school year pace is now barreling along, but I encourage you to find brief respite when you
can and in ways you enjoy.

Superintendent's Bulletin 10-15-10

  • 1. Wellesley Public Schools Superintendent’s 40 Kingsbury Street Bulletin Wellesley, Massachusetts 02481 www.wellesley.k12.ma.us/district/bulletins.htm Bella T. Wong Bulletin #7 Superintendent of Schools October 15, 2010 The Superintendent’s Bulletin is posted weekly on Fridays on our website. It provides timely, relevant information about meetings, professional development opportunities, curriculum and program development, grant awards, and School Committee news. The bulletin is also the official vehicle for job postings. Please read the bulletin regularly and use it to inform colleagues of meetings and other school news.   Dear Colleagues, Some of you have asked how last weekend¹s camping trip in New Hampshire went. I am happy to report that those sleeping bag liners (actually rated for zero to ten degrees I learned when I re-checked the label) really did the trick. They kept us warm as the temperatures dipped into the mid-thirties both nights. By the way, the evening stars were breathtaking. I thought they were the best ever, but it might be just that my brain doesn¹t hold onto how truly brilliant they are between the times I am able to see them away from urban light. From the sampling of comments from friends and colleagues, it is clear family camping is not so common and not even on most people¹s wish list! For us the highlight is definitely building and then gathering around the campfire. I know the school year pace is now barreling along, but I encourage you to find brief respite when you can and in ways you enjoy.   Calendar Saturday 10/16 Bates Pumpkin Fair Monday 10/18 WEF Fall Grant Application Deadline Tuesday 10/19 School Committee Meeting Thursday 10/28 Teachers for Safe Schools Meeting   Teachers for Safe Schools Meeting  Teachers for Safe Schools will hold a meeting open to all Wellesley Public School staff on  Thursday, October 28th, in Room 245 at the Middle School from 3 ‐ 4:15pm.  Teachers for Safe  Schools is a group of WPS staff that are interested in supporting all WPS staff around issues of  sexual orientation. Questions ‐ please contact Ilene Sharpe x2450
