2. How To Get Your Driving License
Getting your drivers licence for the first time might seem complicated and a little
worrying - but let us put your mind at rest with our brief guide on how to get
your Drivers License...
3. How To Get Your Driving License
1) Getting a Provisional Driving Licence:
You will need to apply for a Provisional Driving License and anyone over the age
of 16 can do this. This will allow you to learn to drive a car, moped or
motorcycle in the UK.
You must fill out the D1 application form which can be found at your local Post
Office. But this can also be done online, for both ways you will need proof of
your identity. That will in most cases be your passport/Birth Certificate or
National Insurance Number and one passport sized colour photograph as
well as a fixed fee of £50.00 to pay. There will be a tick list of what you need
to send on the D1 form.
The DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency) ask for you to send all your
original documentation to them, they will also be returned safely to you.
You will need to send your completed application form and payment to DVLA,
Swansea, SA99 1AD.
