Some reflections• Extensive groundwater resources available in hyper- arid regions.• Growing population (improving living conditions and development)• Increasing agriculture (good conditions for high value crops)• “Boom” of mining activity (steady increase of metals’ price by demand in emerging economy)• Conflicts (low level) between different users already exist and could be expected to increase• A need of water management models/doctrines specific for arid an hyper arid environments. Traditional or “modern” water management paradigms are not valid here!
