The Water Cycle, life as a droplet of water

Learning Here we will learn about the Water Cycle with pictures and text. Please read every slide, you will be tested on what you learn!

In this process water changes from a liquid to a gas.

The water vapor rises into the Earth's atmosphere where it cools and condenses into liquid droplets.

Which then form together, into clouds, that travel across land before the water droplets fall as precipitation

Precipitation may fall as snow, or melt and fall as rain

Some of the precipitation soaks into the ground. Some of the underground water is trapped between rock or clay layers; this is called groundwater

But most of the water flows downhill as runoff (above ground or underground), eventually returning to the seas as slightly salty water

Once the water has been returned to the oceans, rivers, and streams, the water cycle starts all over again!
