1.Preface

With the city of Jaipur being on the position to be a global metropolis, the city has been seeing

a hub for the employment, the recent developmental plans are worth justifying it. The city of

There are three Master Development Plans as of now for the city of Jaipur
 1976-1991: 1st Master Development Plan for 1991 made and approved under U.I.T.
The motto to develop Jaipur as a major Tourist Attraction and was primarily aimed
towards the comprehensive development of the city.
 1998 – 2011: 2nd Master Development Plan for 2011 approved
Was aimed to meet the future requirement of the city and was aimed to tackle
daily based problems of the city.
 2009 – 2025: 3rd Master Development Plan for 2025 prepared
Aimed to bring in futuristic development within the city and increase the energy
efficiency of the city. Better Land Utilization, Integrated land use and bringing in
more ecological areas and landscaping.

The walled city of Jaipur has experienced the wonderful planning of older times, and now they
are experiencing the wonderful planning of the modern times. Under the new master
development plan, several new schemes for the development of the Jaipur beyond its boundary
has been proposed and base map has been prepared in order to make it up to date and full
proof.

Several surrounding villages and areas have been included in the master plan and several
schemes meant for the growth of the city have been included. Provisions of Metro Services to
various parts of the city have been included, while Ring Road Development across the city in
order to improve Public Transportation and better connectivity. Several Plans for
underdeveloped and remote areas in order to better improve the conditions of the city and make
it the best global city on international level.
Highlights of the Master Development Plan 2025
 Aiming towards Population growth and in-migration to the city
 Facility of adequate housing with high emphasis on the weaker sections of the society
 Addressing the problems of small enterprises, mainly in the unorganized informal
sector; dealing with the issue of slums
 Up-gradation of old and dilapidated areas of the Jaipur and nearby surrounding areas
 Provision of adequate infrastructure services
 Conservation of natural environment
 Conservation of Jaipur's heritage and blending it with new and complex modern patterns
of development
With the proposed 11 satellite towns and some other growth centers, 4 in number, the Master
Development Plan 2025 has touched all areas for the development. Many Residential Flats in
Jaipur are also under the development process in order to provide with the people better living.
