What are grasslands?
Grasslands are areas that
are dominated by
grasses and shrubs
(large bushes) with few
trees.

In Trinidad and Tobago,
Aripo savanna is one of
the last remaining
grasslands.

The Sundew plant (Drosera
Capillaris Poir) is an
insectivorous plant- i.e. it eats
insects. It is a common species
found in the Open savannas- It
is endemic to Aripo Savannas.
Climbing Vine- also an piphyte-
                           because the roots do not go into
Bromeliad ( an epiphyte)   the soil, they tangle around the
                           stem)
