2. A word from the Founder
The industry of interna4onal volunteerism is growing rapidly. In the year 2000,
there were a reported 500,000 volunteer tourists. Ten years later, this number
has emerged to more than 1.6 million. To accommodate this new market,
there has been a veritable explosion in the amount of volunteer experience
providers in recent years, and these experiences are becoming globally
accessible over the Internet.
These hundreds of providers promise a life‐changing experience and
guarantee innumerable opportuni4es on every con4nent. Choosing one is an
overwhelming process. The cost, not including flights and insurance, can range
anywhere from$3,000 to $10,000. And yet finding comprehensive unbiased
informa4on on these programs is nearly impossible.
That’s where we come in.
YounGlobe is, and forever will be, on a mission. This mission is driven by need
and opportunity. We aim to maximize the experience of interna4onal
volunteers, as well as their parents and educators, while ensuring that each
volunteer creates a posi4ve impact on the surrounding community. Our
modern movement is essen4al to secure a fair, safe, and sustainable future for
interna4onal volunteers in a global marketplace increasingly dominated by
interna4onal corpora4ons. We are ambi4ous in our goals and aim to be an
ever more powerful force for good in future years.

6. Our goals and objectives
YounGlobe, LLC is an expert, independent, for-profit
organization whose primary goal is to create a fair and safe
marketplace for international volunteers and to empower
our users to make informed decisions and discover
opportunity. Consumers lack a reliable source of information
they can depend on to help distinguish ethical from
unethical and good programs from bad ones. YounGlobe
aims to fill this vacuum with a broad range of impartial
consumer information. Three years from now, YounGlobe
will be the most recognizable name in the industry of
international volunteerism. We will achieve this by providing
a necessary service and adapting to our audience’s needs.
By June of 2014, the website will detail more than 250
international volunteer programs. By that time we will have
surpassed one million monthly page views online and
75,000 registered users.
