The health and medical sector has had great developments in
recent years. Therefore, there are many specialist hospitals,
big pharmacological companies, and new medical inventions
every year. All of these help to cure people of disease quickly.
However, these days, diseases are becoming more
complicated, and creating new medicines is always a
challenge. Moreover, they are spreading new types of cancer
and viruses, such as HIV/AIDS, breast cancer, heart diseases,
ebola etc.
Why do you think these killer diseases have increased?
What about the future, will they increase or decrease?

Some researchers suggest that people who have to obey
instructions from their bosses produce more cortisol
than those who do not. One experiment with animals
showed that predators have less cortisol in their blood
than others that have to be constantly alert to protect
themselves and their colonies. Do you think that
people who work in lower-level positions are more
likely than others to have certain health issues such as
heart attacks or diabetes?
