2. The History of
Disneyland
• The first of 2 theme parks built at the Disneyland
resort in Anaheim, California .
• Opening date July 17, 1955
• It was named after Walt Disney
• The original size of the park was 8 acres next to
Burbank Studios
• But plans were canceled because of World War II.
• In 1953, the property had to be within the Los
Angeles metropolitan area. It turned out to be 100
acres.
• Disneyland in 1960
