This document introduces DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture), an XML-based architecture for authoring and managing topic-oriented technical content. It discusses the benefits of DITA for reuse, reduced time-to-market and improved manageability of content. The core components of DITA like topics, maps and specialization are explained. Techniques for task analysis, content modeling and rapid prototyping with DITA are also covered.
