    CHAPTER 6 BIOMES

LESSON 1—HOW ARE ORGANISMS ON EARTH
    RELATED?
+
    Humans are connected through the
    resources they share like,

     Air

     Water

     Sunlight

     space
+
    If something happens to one
    organism, other organisms can be
    affected. Human actions affect the
    biosphere.
     FOR EXAMPLE:

     CORAL REEFS.---IF REEFS ARE
        DAMAGED,THE ORGANISMS THAT
        DEPEND ON THEM DIE.
+
+
    INTERACTIONS with other living
things as well as non living things
is an important aspect of an
    ecosystem.
 An organisms environment is anything that can affect the
        organism
+
    MEETING THE NEEDS OF
    ORGANISMS
 ORGANISMS DEPEND ON THEIR ENVIRONMENT TO MEET
        THEIR NEEDS.

 THEY DEPEND ON THE ABIOTIC FACTORS AND BIOTIC
        FACTORS.

 Biotic factors are the living organisms in an ecosystem
whereas Abiotic factorsare the non living parts.
+
                         ADAPTATIONS

 All organisms in a particular ecosystem have adaptations that
        help them survive there.

 For example: Polar bears have thick furs, black skin, strong
claws to adapt to the environment they live in.

 Plants growing in the arctic are small, adapted to grow low to
avoid damage from the strong winds.
