• Collaboration tools:
Understanding the basic theories of digital communication and networking, the client/server model, and
peer-to-peer networks. Effectively using email, file servers and the Web to share information and work
collaboratively.
• Information systems:
• Understanding the roles hardware and software play in digital information systems.
Information sources:
• Managing personal information resources and tools; locating and evaluating on-line information sources.
• Automation:
Understanding and applying end-user workflow automation tools such as scripting languages, macros,
etc. to practical information tasks.
• Presentation:
Understanding and applying principles of good design for presentation; using web development tools and
web services.
