examinatons as manifestatons for the ordering of students
and subjects.
• The Enlightenment, which discovered the libertes, also
invented the disciplines
• Educatonal insttutons as gatekeepers for the allocaton of
knowledge and power
Discussion
Open Educaton is not solely a “humanistc
project” (educaton for all, democratzaton of
educaton) but also a form of exclusion (those
who are unwilling to open up)

A critcal evaluaton: Foucault • Atempt to turn philosophy upside down by questoning fundamental assumptons about the subject and the society • Special understanding of power and knowledge • “Discipline and Punishment” implicatons for educaton: Classroom as a paradigm of discipline, normalisaton and regulaton (tmetable, curriculum). Evaluaton and examinatons as manifestatons for the ordering of students and subjects. • The Enlightenment, which discovered the libertes, also invented the disciplines • Educatonal insttutons as gatekeepers for the allocaton of knowledge and power
  • 9. Discussion Open Educaton is not solely a “humanistc project” (educaton for all, democratzaton of educaton) but also a form of exclusion (those who are unwilling to open up)
