A normal OMR sheet has space for the details of the candidate filling the form. These include name, course name, roll number, mobile number, subject and such other details. After this comes the bubbles which are actually options for the questions asked. In a normal A4 sized paper, one can easily fit 50 questions with four options. However, if there are more questions with more options, then this can become a difficulty. This is where duplex OMR sheet comes into picture.

The OMR or Optical Mark Recognition sheet is a great tool if you have to evaluate loads of forms or
answer sheets. It saves your time, and the chances of errors are almost zero no chances of
discrepancies. The OMR sheet can be recognized by the four index points on its corners which help
the scanner software to detect the marks made on the bubbles or boxes.

Duplex OMR sheet is where both sides of the paper contain questions, blocks or bubbles. A typical
duplex OMR sheet can contain 200-300 questions with five options. Usually, for convenience, the
information fields are kept in one page and the questions are kept on the other side. The
arrangement of these things would depend on the number of questions as well as the options. The
design of OMR sheet will depend upon the question & options required.
The duplex OMR sheets are most useful for private scholarship events as well as major examinations
where the students' information have to be taken. This is definitely a great way of avoiding
confusion by needing to add more than two OMR sheets which can be easily misplaced. Moreover,
you can save paper too.
The only problem with the duplex OMR sheet is that you need a duplex scanner to scan it. While
only a normal scanner is needed for an OMR sheet, this is not the case of a duplex OMR sheet. One
would have to invest in a duplex scanner which scans both sides of the paper at the same time.
For scanning the duplex OMR sheet you need a duplex scanner, which scans both sides of the paper
at the same time. So it saves your time & effort. If you have to scan large numbers of forms or
sheets.
Although this type of OMR sheet has a small disadvantage, in the long run, it would save your time
and money if you have to scan large numbers of forms or sheets.
