2. The world has changed and so are people in their needs, their preferences and their exigencies. When globalization occurred the need to understand and communicate with others became an obligation. Differences emerged and a common ground had to be established. Companies have the necessity to accept and implement Diversity in order to adapt to the world market. Introduction
3. The best way, and perhaps the only fair way, for an organization to effectively operate and compete in today’s global business environment is to treat all employees equally, regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity, physical impairment, or other personal characteristics(Mathis & Jackson, 2008). Companies have started to have challenges in accommodating specifics circumstances or necessities for their employees. A bigger need for accepting differences became much common to all companies in the work market (Robinson- Wood, T.L.2009). First main point
4. When companies recognize diversity, it becomes an asset to the company. It will benefit the organization in many different aspects. For instance, it will make easier to retain good employees, and will develop a reputation that will help the company to attract new employees. Second main point
5. The employees have to divest from their own difficulties about accepting diversity and try to open up for this new multicultural workforce that will contribute so much for the enrichment of the organization. It is important to look for opportunities to learn from them. A great attitude of being humble and ask ourselves what and how can one learn from this diverse situation? Moreover, the organization should watch for opportunities to show interest in their employee’s culture. This will show the employees that the company cares for them, that it has interest in them and this attitude will help the organization to develop rapport with them. Third point
6. It is important that the organization get focus on the recruiting of its employees. In order to have a variety of culture in the workplace the procedure has to start in the hiring process not being prejudice or discriminative. Another very important issue that need attention is the legal aspects of hiring different people from different background and how this may interfere with other employees. Fourth point
7. My hypothesis is that Companies have the necessity to accept and implement Diversity in order to adapt and succeed the world market. Some questions that I would ask in order to develop this area of study would be; Even though Globalization is here, people are each day more expose to different culture and customs, companies understand that they benefit from it why is discrimination still a sever issue in the work place? What can companies still do to avoid discrimination now a day? For me it is very important to debate those issues because if those issues do not diminish in some organizations they will be damage in the world market. Hypothesis
