3. the designer
ashley g. tucker graduated from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama with a B.A. in
Interior Design and a Minor in Art. Before graduating, she had the opportunity to contribute
to the community through her passion for art and design. Her projects included stylized house
renderings, admission of paintings on display at the Birmingham Art Collective and Active
Culture gallery, and working within her sorority as Art Director in charge of all creative
displays and event design, while winning two on-campus competitions. From there, she was
given the opportunity to design the exterior and interior of Table, a hip and trendy American
cuisine spot located in the heart of Birmingham. Soon after, she began working for
Meadowcraft Inc, a high-end outdoor furniture manufacturer. Beginning as a design intern,
she experienced the odds and ends of furniture and industrial design, which led to her
inspiration for her senior thesis, Meadowcraft's 12,000 square foot showroom relocation inside
The Merchandise Mart, Chicago Illinois. The project grew into a reality, as she was promoted
to Visual Creative Designer, completing the scope of the work for the showroom and a variety
of other responsibilities. to create an excellent merchandise and client experience.
5. philosophy
Exceptional interior design begins and ends with understanding the client's dreams and
desires. Considering herself a personal stylist for her clients, ashley g. tucker believes in
creative, yet functional and graceful solutions for an overall inspiring environment. She enjoys
incorporating unexpected and custom pieces within a space, while utilizing materials in new
and sustainable ways. Most of her inspiration spurs from her artistic background and speaks
through the language of her designs. To ensure real value in her designs, collaboration
between the client and the designer presents an open exchange of information to build a
relationship and design for a peaceful state of mind.
