Twenty-five years of fighting AIDS teaches you a lot about patience. It is challenging to have patience when
more than 5,000 people die of AIDS every day and even more become infected. Maintaining urgency in a crisis
that has gone on for thirty years can be daunting. But, the essential reality of AIDS remains. A still relatively
new, incurable, killer, infectious disease, that is primarily transmitted through sexual contact, has invaded

We are patient in the sense that we recognize that we cannot falter in this battle, no matter how long it
