What is it good for?
1. SAVElinks to great sites, web pages for future reference.
2. ORGANIZE those links so you can find them later—even if you
don’t remember what they’re called or even that you saved them!
3. FIND the links you have saved that meet a specific need. For
example, if you’re looking for interactive games about fractions for
review using your Smartboard, you can pull up those links long after
you saved them by searching your tags.
Diigo does much, much more, but this is
enough to get you started! 
Putting the DiigoBookmarklet on your browser toolbar
1. Go to www.diigo.com

2. Click TOOLS in the upper right of the page (gray bar).
3. Click “Simple Bookmarklet” (second option under Bookmarklets).
4. Right click “Post to diigo” button.
5. Click “Add to favorites” and click “Yes” when the security warning box comes up. Then click
ADD.
6. Go back up to Favorites. “Post to diigo” should be at the bottom of the menu now. Drag it up to
the Favorites Bar section of the menu. Now there should be a “Post to diigo” button on your
menu!
Using the DiigoBookmarklet
To bookmark a page you are on, just click “Post to diigo” in the toolbar. (The first time you do this it may
ask you to log in to Diigo, but after that, it should recognize your computer automatically.)
A box will appear with the URL and title of the page already filled in. Just add tags to help you categorize
this page for later searching and click “Add New Bookmark.” You can also add notes if you wish. The
page is now saved to your Diigo library!
Some advice on Tagging Bookmarks…
1. Be thoughtful about tagging! Ask yourself…
What labels best describe the contents of this page?
Are these labels I will be likely to use for future searching?
Is this term natural to me?
2. Type carefully! Mistyped tags mean you’ll have more than one tag when you only want one.
3. Consider the ways the site will be helpful to you in the future. Add tags with these needs in
mind.
For example, you find a site with math games that would be good for review of fractions
and for use on the Smartboard. You use the tags math, fractions, games, Smartboard.
Then the site will come up when you search for ANY of these four terms.
