Evaluation q2
1. Evaluation. 2. How does your media product represent particular social groups? By Alex Hill
2. These are the type of people that represent my audience, the gender is mainly male, and the age group is mainly for teenagers or young men. In my magazine you could say that I have used a absent representation of females as I haven't really mentioned or shown any female aspect to it, which you could say is singling them out because you don’t get a lot of female DJ’s because the majority is mainly male. The way I have represented teenagers and young males is in a cool stylish way an example of this is on my front cover I have a young DJ male in a hoody with the hood up which represents being bad and aggressive, the dominant representation of a stereotypical DJ is a cool, drug taking and has a don’t give a damn about anything approach. Another thing I have done is used a lot of technology in the way that in most of my pictures you can see decks and the mixer which I am trying to put across that males are more interested in this sort of technology which is reinforcing dominant ideology. The socio economic class of my magazine is more of a C2 – D group as these people are people with simple jobs on simple pay and like to go out and have a good time.
3. Ideology. As you can see in my magazine I have not really shown any other groups rather than young males or teenagers, which you can say is me ignoring a huge group, such as Females, Black people, Disabled people and other groups. Seeing as I have done this it gives of a rebellious feel to it in the way that I feel like I don’t need to mention them, I have done this because it is showing dominant ideology which is that males are more dominant and that women are just objects and aren't important as males to me, another way I have shown this by using a lot of urban and technological features and pictures to my magazine.
