Crafter Studio is a complete authoring and publishing environment for managing web and enterprise content with Alfresco. It’s also major custom extension of Alfresco Share, and leverages all of Alfresco’s core repository services. In this session we will provide a technical overview of the Crafter Studio implementation, highlight key Alfresco Share and repository lessons learned and describe the application level configurations available to meet specific needs. We’ll also demonstrate the features for content authoring and publishing.

by Asif Khan, Technical Business Development Manager, AWS Deep learning is an implementation of machine learning that uses neural networks to solve difficult and complex problems, such as computer vision, natural language processing, and recommendations. Due to the availability of deep learning libraries and frameworks, developers have the ability to enhance the capabilities of their applications and projects. In this workshop, you learn how to build and deploy a powerful deep learning framework called MXNet on containers. The portability and resource management benefit of containers means developers can focus less on infrastructure and more on building. The labs start by demonstrating the automation capabilities of AWS CloudFormation to stand up core infrastructure; as an added bonus, you use Spot Fleet to leverage the cost benefits of using Spot Instances, especially for developer environments. Then, you walk through creating an MXNet container in Docker and deploying it with Amazon ECS. Finally, you walk through an image classification demo of MXNet to validate that everything is working as expected. Note: This workshop focuses on containerizing MXNet. The features of MXNet and capabilities of deep learning in general are vast, and there are recorded sessions from re:Invent that dive deeper on these topics. DevNexus 2017 Microservices-based architectures are en-vogue. The last couple of years we have learned how the thought-leaders implement them, and every other week we have heard about how containers and Platform-as-a-Service offerings make them ultimately happen. The problem is that the developers are almost forgotten and left alone with provisioning and continuous delivery systems, containers and resource schedulers, and frameworks and patterns to help slice existing monoliths. How can we get back in control and efficiently develop them without having to provision complete production-like environments locally, by hand? All the new buzzwords, frameworks, and hyped tools have made us forget ourselves—Java developers–and what it means to be productive and have fun building systems. The problem that we set out to solve is: how can we run real-world Microservices-based systems on our local development machines, managing provisioning, and orchestration of potentially hundreds of services directly from a single command line tool, without sacrificing productivity enablers like hot code reloading and instant turnaround time? During this talk, you’ll experience first-hand how much fun it can be to develop large-scale Microservices-based systems. You will learn a lot about what it takes to fail fast and recover and truly understand the power of a fully integrated Microservices development environment.
