Pancreatic endocrine tumors are rare, occurring in approximately 5 per 1,000,000 people per year. The most common types are insulinomas, gastrinomas, vipomas, and glucagonomas. Insulinomas typically present with hypoglycemic symptoms and are usually benign and solitary. Gastrinomas present with peptic ulcer disease and weight loss and are often malignant.
