Habit #1 BE PROACTIVE
Principle #1: “I am free to choose and am responsible for my choices.”
Are We DETERMINED by external forces?
 
 
The ability to  subordinate an IMPULSE to a VALUE  is the essence of a proactive person
Any time you think  the problem is ‘out there’ ,  that  very thought  is the problem!
1. They do not blame circumstances or other people (REACTIVE)

They determine the agendas they will follow and choose their response to what happens around them. Be Reactive.   Reactive people don’t take responsibility for their own lives. They feel victimized, a product of circumstances, their past, and other people. They do not see as the creative force of their lives.

  1. Get students to think that GIVEN the roles they are now playing, what would be the activities they need to do on a regular basis to ensure they “perform” well? E.g. Spending time with family Studying Exercising Learning about other communities Learning about manners
  2. Work only in your Circle of Influence – for 30 days. Make small commitments and keep them. Heart of the Circle of Influence – making and keeping commitments and promises. How do you expand your circle of influence?
